The Michelin Victoria plant, a plant with tradition in the manufacture of tires, was established in the year 1939 and purchased by Michelin in the year 2001. The plant is dedicated to the manufacture of tires having sizes between 14 and 19 inches, for motor vehicles and light trucks.
In addition to the mission of manufacturing tires, the Victoria plant also includes a semifinished products shop and a membrane shop, which service the local manufacturing activity, as well as other plants in Europe and China.
Currently, Michelin, Kleber, BFGoodrich, and Kormoran tires are manufactured at the Victoria Plant in Florești . The tires manufactured in our plant service the markets in Europe, Asia, South America, and China.
By the royal decree of July 1936, launched at the request of Princess Elizabeth, sister of King Charles II, the construction of a tire plant is started at Florești, a strategic unit for the development of the country and of the industry, in the Prahova oil-field area.
With the privatization in the 90s, the Victoria Plant becomes a member of Tofan Group, thus joining the other tire plants held by the group in Romania. Michelin purchases the Florești plant from Tofan Group. The plant joins TCAR and starts manufacturing tires for the American market.

Édouard Michelin visits the Victoria plant. He was the great-grandson of Édouard Michelin, one of the two Michelin brothers who co-founded the company. He joined the Michelin Group in 1985, which was then led by its father, François Michelin and was appointed Michelin Group CEO in 1999. Édouard Michelin passed away in 2006.
Victoria plant receives ISO 9001 certification which defines the way an organization works to meet the clients and interested parties' needs. The certification has been granted after a successful audit based on ISO 9001 standard and afterwards it provided the organization wider opportunities for development by expanding towards market segments that were inaccessible up to the point of the certification.

The Membrane Shop is opened at the Victoria plant, servicing our plant, as well as other plants in Europe. The membranes manufactured in the Victoria plant reach Japan, Thailand, China, and the USA.
The membrane is a rubber product of different shapes that can be inserted between the flanges of a machinery and inflated. It can serve different purposes: turning, replacing a metal drum, support between confection and vulcanization and after vulcanization.
Victoria plant produces TCAR tyre number 10.000.000 and the first tyre for original equipment.
The President of the Michelin Group, Jean Dominique Senard, visits Victoria Plant. Jean Domnique Senard was the CEO of Michelin Group between 2012 – 2019.
A special tire - XM1 - is manufactured in the Michelin Victoria plant - for the Asian Market, marking thus the first opening of the plant towards this market.

The shop for automatic palletizing is inaugurated. The sorting of tyres based on size and their on pallets for stocking is done with the help of robots.
MAC/BU project is implemented in the mixing activity. Through this project, a significant part of manual production has been replaced by automatic activity. Hence, the operator does not touch chemical products and the hygiene and ergonomic conditions have been improved.
MAC/BU is the production of BU (Boite Unique) bags containing chemical products that are used in the production of mixes in the MAT shop. This shop provides BU bags to other plants as well.
Michelin, together with other three companies in Prahova and with the help of the Technological Highschool Câmpina launches a dedicated class to teaching student in the dual educational system, specialty Low Voltage Electricity. The second class is launched in the school year 2020 - 2021.
Victoria Plant joined the Group efforts in protecting its employees and produced masks for a period of 2 months. In just a few weeks, the necessary analysis has been performed, a new shop was completely reorganized to host the new activity, persons to work in the shop have been identified and trained. Thus, the necessary quantity of masks has been produced, mainly for Victoria Plant employees but also for the employees at the Bucharest Headquarters.
